Family

My nephew just got his mission call to Fiji! So cool. Our family is truly going global! Wow I feel really old.

Valentines Day - what a strange day. It is wierd that we have to have a set day to tell and show people that we love them. I think if we need reminders - that we should have a set time everyday where we stop what we are doing and just tell people how we feel about them. Although, whoever chooses the time would have to do so wisely. Because - if it fell right in the middle of a heated spousal debate (which happen frequently in my abode) then... wierd!

Happy Valentines - nonetheless!

Kako said...: Which nephew? And did you ever consider that you and Greg aren't getting along because of how short your hair is? In my marriage it would be a strong possibility. Speaking of Valentines, I made a basket for Daniel and took it to his work. He was excited to share the cookies with his staff, but blushed a little when he got to the lingerie. OVERHEARD

Emerson LOVES to play with the chickens - the other day he was chasing them around the backyard with a plastic fork with a piece of bark in it trying to feed them "Bite Bite" he would say as he poked the fork at their beaks!
At the indoor roller-rink the other day after Lane had fallen down about 2,00 times, he kept getting back up and trying it again. He went out with Maelynn and the disco ball was spinning. As he fell again, he looked up at her and excitedly said, "I just fell on a rainbow!"
While flipping through a little book Lane says to me, "You know what mom? I wanna make something." "Oh, yeah, what's that, Lane?" "Well, it is a special food that has fish and broccoli and donuts and red peppers in it!" "YUMMM!"
Lane was using the bathroom and while I was waiting for him he said, "Mom, did you know that Heavenly Father made this toilet for us?" I said, "Actually, it was made by a man for us to use." "He quickly replied, "Oh yeah. That's what I said. Like Dad or some other worker made it!"
Greg was bargaining with Lane in an attempt to motivate him to use the potty. Greg said, "Lane, I will pay you a quarter if you go pee in the potty, and 2 quarters if you go poo in the potty." Without skipping a beat, Lane responded, "And how much for a fart?"
Tonight I was asking the kids if they wanted me to make them grilled cheese sandwiches. Lane quickly told me, "Mom - I don't want a girl chese sandwich, I want a BOY chesse sandwich!"
Sadie says to me while sweeping up the kitchen floor: "Mom, I would absolutely HATE to be a little crumb. Because I would have to go in the stinky garbage bag and then live in the big stinky garbage can. I would NOT like that at all. I would NOT want to be a little crumb."
IT'S OFFICIAL... Lane inherited my "literal" bug. This morning he was being very grumpy so I said to him, "Lane, did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed?" To which he replied, "No Mom, I woke up IN my bed!"
